Community Garden Projects

A Community Garden is a piece of land gardened by a group of community members.  There are many examples of community gardens all around the world. Now more than ever people have a longing to have real food and a relationship with where that food comes from. Community gardens have many benefits, here are a few examples of what these gardens can allow people to do for their communities:

· Have access to nutritious food
· Know where that food comes from
· Stimulate social interaction
· Educate Youth about healthy diets
· Promote self  reliance
· Beautify neighborhoods
· Reduce family food budgets
· Create opportunity for recreation, exercise, therapy, and education
· Provide for intergenerational and cross-cultural education
· Reduce crime while increasing income opportunity and economic development

Right now Sozo Gardeners are  working on developing The Appian Street Community Garden in Napoleon, Ohio.

We are in Great Need of Volunteers!
